Tire Handling and Storage

Off-The Road tires are very heavy, poor handling of an unfitted tire can cause serious injury. When transporting tire, particular care must be taken to ensure that the beads & inner of the tire are not damaged. Even a minor damage on bead or inner liner will result in premature failure due to air seeping into the body of the tire causing a separation. In order to eliminate the risk of damage at the bead area and other problems which could result due improper handling, we strongly advise that –

In order to avoid premature ageing and damage to tires, they should be stored in a cool dry place indoors and away from direct sunlight, electric motors, oil, fuels, grease, lubricants & other volatile substances.

If this cannot be done, the tires must be covered with a waterproof tarpaulin to protect from Ozone sources, Ultra-violet rays & weather.

tires should be stored vertically on the roll, one against the other.

Avoid stacking one over the other. Tubes, flaps & O-rings may be stocked in their original packing or unwrapped on racks / shelves – never suspended.

When storing tires fitted on rims, reduce inflation pressure.
